Reseller, official site or bank card: what's the difference

There are three ways to activate a VIP lounge, and all three are legitimate. The difference is in the channel and the way you're billed, not in the validity of the access.

Three illustrated paths leading to the door of an airport VIP lounge, signaling different purchase options

Three doors to the same lounge

When someone decides to activate access to airport VIP lounges, there are almost always three possible paths. You can buy on the official site, you can get the access bundled into a premium credit card, or you can buy from an authorized reseller. All three lead to the same door. The difference is not in the access itself, it's in the channel through which it reaches you and the way it's billed.

This text exists because a lot of people search "is it a scam?" when they see a price below the official one. It's an honest question. The answer will be honest too: a lower price doesn't mean worse access or fraud, it means a different purchase channel. Let's open all three.

Channel 1: the official site (direct retail)

The official Priority Pass™ site sells at the direct-to-consumer retail price. It's the brand's own counter, the most direct purchase there is, and for that reason also the most expensive. You pay the full amount, with no middleman, with no dilution.

There's nothing wrong with this path. It's simply the top of the price table, the point where the end consumer pays the maximum. It's the reference almost everyone uses to compare, and that's precisely why any figure below it raises suspicion at first glance.

Channel 2: the premium credit card (the bank buys wholesale)

When your premium card offers VIP lounges "for free", the bank isn't doing charity. It bought that access wholesale, through programs like LoungeKey, Visa Airport Companion or DragonPass, and diluted the cost inside the annual fee you already pay.

In other words: the access isn't free, it's built in. The bank buys cheap, through the wholesale channel, and distributes it among thousands of customers. That's how it can offer visits without charging per visit. Nobody thinks the bank is committing fraud by putting Priority Pass™ or LoungeKey on the card. It simply used the wholesale channel, which exists for exactly that.

Channel 3: the authorized reseller (our case)

The authorized reseller buys through the same wholesale channel the bank uses, but instead of diluting the cost into an annual fee, it passes the price on openly and individually. You see how much it costs, you pay for that specific access, and that's it. That's the case with Lounge Secreto.

The access is intermediated by our authorized commercial and banking partner, drawn from surplus VIP lounge benefits. It's the same world of wholesale prices that supports the bank card, only without the annual fee in the middle. That's why the price is lower than official retail: it's not a suspicious discount, it's the structure of the channel.

The side-by-side comparison

| Channel | Who sells | How it bills | Relative price | |---|---|---|---| | Official site | The brand itself | Full amount, one-off | The most expensive (retail) | | Premium card | The bank | Diluted into the annual fee | Wholesale built in | | Authorized reseller | Authorized partner | Open price, one-off | Wholesale passed on |

All three are legitimate. The validity of the access is the same in all three. What changes is the channel and the way you're billed.

The detail that removes the mismatch

There's a common worry: "what if I get turned away at the airport because the name on the account doesn't match my ID?". It's a fair concern, and the answer is what gives the model its security.

The account and the access credentials are created and sent by Priority Pass™ itself to the holder after activation, in the holder's name. The membership is in your name, with no mismatch against your ID or boarding pass. We do not collect, do not request and do not store credentials or logins of existing Priority Pass™ accounts. We never ask for your login.

Each pass is valid for 1 year, with 10 visits and 5 guests, and you can verify your own pass at any time. Behind it we operate through ALAS TECHNOLOGY LLC (USA), with a public tax registration, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27701 and ISO 37301 certifications, and payment through Stripe (PCI-DSS), with a full right to chargeback and, in Brazil, Pix with MED (Special Refund Mechanism from the Central Bank) as additional protection.

Frequently asked questions

Is buying from an authorized reseller legal?

Yes. It's the same wholesale channel banks use to bundle VIP lounges into premium cards. The only difference is the way you're billed: the reseller passes on the open price, the bank dilutes it into the annual fee. The access is equally valid.

Why can the bank give "free" access on the card?

Because it isn't free. The bank buys the access wholesale, cheaper than retail, and builds the cost into the annual fee you already pay. The account is still issued in the holder's name.

Is a price lower than the official site a sign of fraud?

No. The official site charges the retail price, the most expensive in the table. Wholesale and resale are structurally lower on purpose, so that banks and authorized resellers can pass on better terms.
